The advisory committee has been created to
provide diverse stakeholders input to Wisconsin's "Coming
Home: Affordable Assisted Living" initiative. This initiative
is a joint effort on the part of the Wisconsin Housing and
Economic Development Authority and the Wisconsin Department
of Health and Family Services, in conjunction with a grant
from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to promote affordable
assisted living. The advisory committee will run for a three-year
period, from 2001 to 2004, the term of the grant. Specific
roles and functions of the advisory committee include:
- Provide input to Wisconsin's affordable assisted living
initiative
- Identify barriers to the development and provision of
affordable assisted living
- Generate ways to reduce the identified barriers
- Identify what we want to learn from for the affordable
assisted living demonstrations and help develop guidelines
for them
- Integrate diverse perspectives to fully address the issue
- Contribute to the development of best practice models
and implementation tools
- Serve as a sounding board for ideas generated through
the grant initiative
- Communicate back to the constituencies represented
- Support progress toward solving the problem of lack of
affordable assisted living
