The National Alliance
for Caregiving (NAC) is a non-profit joint venture, created
in 1996 to support family caregivers of elderly and the professionals
who serve them.
AARP is a national organization
founded in 1958. It represents more than 34 million members,
with half working full or part-time and the others fully retired.
It focuses its efforts and resources in four areas: Health
and wellness, economic security and work, long-term care and
independent living, and personal enrichment.

state assistance programs for older Americans.
ElderCare A nationwide
toll-free service, has helped older adults and their caregivers
find local services for seniors. The U.S. Administration on
Aging is makes part of this service available on-line so that
consumers can easily link to the information and referral
(I&R) services of their state and area agencies on aging.
These I&R programs can help you identify appropriate services
in the area where you or your family member resides.
National Council
on Aging: Founded in 1950, NCOA is the nation's first
association of organizations and professionals dedicated to
promoting the dignity, self-determination, well being, and
contributions of older persons.
The
Wisconsin Dept. of Health and Family Services offers a
variety of information on programs and services for older
people and caregivers.
The Consumer Consortium on
Assisted Living is a national consumer advocacy organization
dedicated solely to the needs, rights, and protections of
assisted living consumers.
